• I now have better strategies in place to deal with my mental health at work. As well as a better understanding of why I feel/ react certain ways to situations which has helped with creating strategies. However, I still struggling with some negative calls. Management is a lot more supportive than they originally were. I think it helps knowing the cause. Despite this I am still concerned about them doubting my capability. It helped me understand why I was struggling with the difficult calls and how to overcome them. It has also helped me discover that I am autistic which in turn has helped me develop better coping strategies. I use a lot of the tools and advice discussed in my sessions. I have a sensory box on my desk that I can use if I get overwhelmed. I also have a traffic light system that I can use to alert management if I am needing extra support. Lisa has helped me to not be so hard on myself. Before these sessions I did not know what was causing my mental health to decline but through these sessions I now know and am able to better mitigate the decline. I am also able to be more assertive with management about what support is beneficial and how they can better support me.
• As a result of the support, I have received I feel encouraged and can recognise what is happening to me, so I feel more positive and hopeful. Without support I do not think I would still be there. Lisa has helped so much! Just the fact that someone can understand what I am saying really makes me feel better about myself. Sometimes I feel that I am just going completely mad because how I feel and the logical part of my brain are completely opposed and when the emotional part of my brain takes over I can no longer function properly. Lisa has helped me to understand why I am reacting in a certain way and why this happens. Just understanding what is happening is helpful because then I can try to be more rational (and stay in my job) rather than letting my emotions take over. I have struggled being with new people and coping with working in a new setting. Being able to share my feelings with someone who can understand why I find things hard, and who doesn’t dismiss my feelings is very important. If someone hasn’t experienced PTSD it is very difficult to understand the way it affects so many things. I am so much better now but I am not the same as I was before. Lisa has helped me to understand myself better and to put strategies for coping in place. I still have a long way to go but I feel more confident now that with time I will be able to manage with work much better. Whatever I am learning now will help me in the future both in a work situation, but also for life in general. I was assaulted and that really affected my confidence and ability to function well. it feels as if I am a bit like a toddler learning to walk again – at the moment I still fall over occasionally but I hope that in the future I will be able to run again! Lisa has helped to stop me from falling over so often! Lisa has a lot of knowledge and experience. She is also very generous with her time and very kind. I have been very lucky to be matched with someone who can help me so much. Whenever I s
• My experience has been incredibly positive and I truly feel that even though this journey has at times been incredibly difficult; I was meant to travel this path to allow me to start to heal many of my past wounds and grow stronger. The support and resources have really helped me manage my mental health and keep up at work. The personalised approach, with all the encouragement and guidance, has made a big difference for me. I can’t thank my counsellor enough for how safe she has made me feel over the last six months, when the emotions became too much, having the permission to be my authentic self and be brave enough to really feel the pain within me (and to validate these feelings) has been life changing!
Having experienced a lot of therapy in various formats and therapist of different styles they bare no comparison to the impact Lisa has had on my recovery and future capabilities to live a long happy life. I have suffered with anxiety and depression for over 20 years and have never really been able to make significant improvements to my mental health until now. The knowledge and understanding Lisa has provided to me have given me smart and strong foundations to start my healing journey with a turbo boost. I know I am only at the beginning of this journey, but I feel very confident that my anxiety and depression will slowly reduce and a real and authentic me will come to the forefront. I am already seeing significant improvements in various areas. I shake less, I eat regularly and healthily, I have less intrusive thoughts, I can rationalise, I do not flare up in anger, I have better control of my digestive system, I can implement boundaries that are for my mental and physical benefit and enforce those boundaries. Life is currently on an upward path and old habits, ways of thinking, reactions, frustrations are slowly being replaced with new ones that are decided by me and imposed by me and enforced by me which prioritise me and take care of my needs. Thank you, Lisa.
I would like to formally acknowledge the positive support I have received from Lisa Their involvement has been instrumental in providing me with helpful resources, constructive conversations, and a therapeutic environment conducive to reflection and recovery. Lisa’s personalised guidance and encouragement made a big difference, creating a safe space for me to be my authentic self and face my emotions. I am really grateful for her support and the positive impact she has had on my life. Thank you, Lisa.
